Master Ford
William Downes
After studying and performing in and around NYC in 90's and early 2000's(Yes, he's that old) William decided it was time to start his own company. Based on the idea that all Shakespeare needs to be enjoyed are actors who trust in each other and the text, and an audience to go along on the journey, Classics on the Rocks focuses on stripped back storytelling that let the language breath and the characters sing. Over the past decade, he has directed Julius Caesar, Twelfth Night, Winter's Tale, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, and Henry V. He has also performed in Merchant of Venice(Gratiano) Twelfth Night(Malvolio), A Midsummer Night's Dream(Peter Quince) and As You Like It(Jaques) to name a few. He studied directing with Sarah Holdren, Geoffrey Owens and at the Sam Wannamaker theatre in London. In addition to his work with Classics on the Rocks, William also does verse and text coaching. All my love and admiration to this amazing cast, it has been an honor walking the boards with you. Special shout out to Rachel, who had vastly superior ideas about this play to anything that I could ever dream of. "Thank you all"
Mistress Ford
